Kobel: "... and after the short break"

Following the away victory in Gladbach, Sebastian Kehl, Marcel Sabitzer, Gregor Kobel and Niklas Süle spoke about the curious penalty and the team's performance.

Sebastian Kehl (in the mixed zone): "We heavily dominated most of the first half and also played a good game tactically but got ourselves into trouble with a set-piece. The team also showed with a player fewer that they can win games like this and showed great spirit. It is difficult for any team to play 30 minutes with 10 men in such tightly packed days. The three points are super important for us. Marcel Sabitzer played a top game. He was present everywhere, on the ball and off the ball."

Marcel Sabitzer (to Sky): "I was concentrating and heard a whistle. I've since been assured that it didn't come from the referee, but rather from the stands. There was no malicious intent; we laughed about it afterwards."

Gregor Kobel (to Sky): "It wasn't the most beautiful game, but you have to compliment the way we defended in the second half with numerical inferiority, how we threw ourselves into it and got the victory – after the short break and the travel."

Niklas Süle (to Sky): "Defending a lead in this stadium with a player fewer represents further development. We demonstrated a certain maturity, even if not everything was good. We were all up for the match and are therefore very happy that although we had to fight with a player fewer, we ultimately took the three points."
