The Soccer Tournament - Day 1

Flying in from 4 different continents, BVB's TST squad finally met up in Cary, NC to participate in the tournament rallying teams from around the USA and beyond.

Our squad consists of a mix of BVB legends and employees, academy coaches and players, football influencers, and a fan who joined us based on a skills competition. Namely:

• Dede - our very own Brazilian legend
• Felipe Santana - the hero of Malaga
• Kevin Großkreutz - the one and only
• Noah Beck - ex-college player now influencer
• Adam Misirly aka All Football Everything (@afe_football)
• Julia Farr - ex-Bundesliga 2 player and BVB employee in Singapore
• Annika Daniel - academy player
• DJ Koulai - academy player
• Cameron Brown - academy coach
• Jakub Lisek - academy coach
• Keegan Woolley - academy coach
• Dru Wright - Director of the BVB academies in North America (Coach)
• Michael Spear - BVB fan, winner of the skill competition







Despite the jet lags and only holding one training session together, the energy in the group was high and spirited. Felipe even occasionally broke out into songs:





The next day, the real action started with our first 2 games of the group stages. Despite the results (2-5 loss vs Hoosier Army & 8-0 loss vs. Newtown Pride FC), our team learned a lot from each other and everyone got an opportunity to play.
