The preparations for the European Championships in Germany, which kick off this Friday (14/06), are in full swing: Borussia player Donyell Malen scored the goal to make it 3-0 in the Netherlands' 4-0 friendly victory over Iceland on Monday evening (11/06).

Donyell Malen had only been on the pitch for four minutes by the time he converted an assist from Memphis Depay. The Borussia player was brought on as a 75th-minute substitute for Cody Gakpo with the Netherlands leading 2-0 at the De Kuip Stadium in Rotterdam. Depay picked out the BVB striker with a lovely pass into the penalty area shortly afterwards and Malen fired it into the top right corner for 3-0 (79). The Netherlands ultimately ran out 4-0 winners in their match against Iceland, which was the Oranje team's final friendly fixture prior to the start of the EURO on Friday.

Salih Özcan was also in international action on Monday evening. The Borussia man was in the starting XI for Türkiye's 2-1 loss against Poland at Narodowy Stadium and was substituted off in the 61st minute. Previously, on Friday, Nico Schlotterbeck and Niclas Füllkrug had been on the pitch for Germany at the Borussia Park in Mönchengladbach. Germany national team coach Julian Nagelsmann's side won their final friendly against Greece 2-1 thanks to goals from Pascal Groß and Kai Havertz. Schlotterbeck (68) and Füllkrug (69) were brought on in the second half.
