Borussia Dortmund take part in the "Remembrance Day in German Football", which commemorates the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration and extermination camp on 27 January 1945 and the victims of the Holocaust, every year. BVB marked this Remembrance Day with various initiatives at today's home game against FC Augsburg.

For several years now, the DFL Foundation has been supporting the "Never again!" initiative and the "Remembrance Day in German Football" on 27 January, the anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration and extermination camp. On this occasion, all clubs in the 1. and 2. Bundesliga are asked to take part in the commemorations on a matchday.

Borussia Dortmund has also been involved in the fight against anti-Semitism and discrimination of any kind for years. For example, several memorial seminars are held every year which are organised in cooperation with various network partners. On this year's Remembrance Day too, BVB will be conducting various initiatives to commemorate the victims.

Before the game against FC Augsburg, a video was shown in the stadium in which the management, coaching staff, players, fans, members and BVB employees jointly made an important statement against forgetting and in favour of remembrance. In addition, the two teams took a photo together before kick-off with the hashtag "WeRemember" and, in doing so, participated in the campaign of the same name by the  and UNESCO. The names of Dortmund natives murdered in the Holocaust were displayed on a video wall. During the game, the slogan "Borussia verbindet. Gemeinsam Erinnern. Gemeinsam gegen Antisemitismus" (Borussia connects. Remembering together. Against Anti-Semitism together) was displayed on the hoardings. The corner flags also bore the inscription "Borussia verbindet" (Borussia connects).

Following a corona-enforced break and a digital event in 2022, the BOROSSEUM will mark the occasion of "Remembrance Day" next Thursday, 26 January 2023, with an in-person event. The topic for this year will be "Dortmund's women resisting against National Socialism". The event will take place at 19:09 CET (admission from 18:30 CET) at Hansaplatz in SIGNAL IDUNA PARK.

Borussia Dortmund stands for an open and diverse society and takes a clear stance against anti-Semitism and discrimination in any form.

Together we shall not forget. #WeRemember
