Babis Drakas will represent the Borussia Dortmund U23s starting from next season. The 21-year-old joins BVB from the VfB Stuttgart second team and has signed a contract until the summer of 2026.

In Drakas, a fast wide player is joining head coach Jan Zimmermann's squad. He played an important role in the VfB youngsters gaining promotion to the third division last season, scoring four goals and notching 10 assists. The right-footed player joined the Swabians' youth setup from SG Sonnenhof Großaspach in 2015. Drakas has racked up 57 appearances in the Regionalliga Südwest over the course of the last two seasons.

"Babis was a key element of the Stuttgart U23s in their promotion-winning season. He's a very quick player and we're hoping that he can set up his team-mates in the best-possible way in the final third and also get himself on the scoresheet on one or two occasions," said Ingo Preuß, the sporting director of the U23s.

"After two years in the Regionalliga, I'm now ready to take the next step and to play in the 3. Liga. BVB are a fantastic club and I'm really looking forward to getting to know my new team soon. I have of course spoken to the coach about the vision and we were both convinced that I would be a very good fit for the team with my way of playing football. I'm also looking forward to the impressive crowds in the 3. Liga,’ said Drakas of his transfer.
